Historical displays in the window and inside shops along Blackhawk Ave downtown.
Often called Wisconsin’s second-oldest city, Prairie du Chien was established as a European settlement by French voyageurs in the late 17th century.
Some of the displays include:

Antique Sewing Machine Demo & Quilt Show

The Pickett Fence Quilt and Candy Shop presents “Quilting With Our Ancestors”, Saturday June 17th, from 10 to 4, and Sunday June 18th, 11 to 4pm. Susan Mueller will be presenting a variety of hand crank sewing machines including some children’s machines, from the late 1800’s into the early 1900’s. Susan will be featuring  a variety of machines and accessories from her private collection, many of which are functional. You will also want to stroll through our display of antique quilts and be inspired by our ancestors craftsmanship and creativity.
