Join us for the reenactment of Marquette & Jolliet Expedition.
Ralph Frese and friends, as Marquette, Jolliet and their crew will arrive around 10:30 AM at Washington Street Park.

In 1973,Ralph Frese, a Northwest side of Chicago resident and owner of the Chicagoland Canoe Base and Blacksmith shop decided, on its 300th anniversary, to recreate the expedition that Jolliet and Marquette accomplished in 1673.
On May 17th, 1973, Ralph and his hearty group launched a 9 month journey to recreate Marquette and Jolliet’s expedition.
Now they are back in Prairie du Chien, 50 years later on the 350th Anniversary!
